ULTRA Q: PEGUILA HAS COME AND ULTRA Q: IN COLOR

Here's some screen grabs of the new remastered and colorized Ultra Q. The folks at Legends 3D took on the huge task of updating the classic Tsuburaya Ultra series. L3D is not only known in Hollywood for their premier work in the popular 3D industry. The company was behind the colorization of the recently released Ray Harryhausen (EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS, IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA) Sci-Fi classics on DVD. Let's hope American audiences will be able to enjoy a subtitled DVD release of this kaiju masterpiece in the near future.

  1. am I the only person who thinks colorizing b/w movies and shows is in the same vein as George Lucas constantly "improving" his Star Wars movies? it still looks like someone has gone over a beautiful pen and ink drawing with crayons.

  2. Hi David,
I'm a lover of monochrome goodness as well. I think the colorized version looks pretty fun and it may bring new fans into the genre. Agreed, nothing can replace the original versions, that goes for Star Wars too. Good hearing from you!

  3. It is a mole or seal? Whether it is, really very cute.

  4. Colorizing has a charm all its own. I love the B/W version, but like to see what they do with the digital paint box too.

Thanks for posting these rare tunes!
    What a treat!
